Arizona’s adult-use cannabis licensing program is facing their 3rd lawsuit over their social equity lottery for retail cannabis permits. The Phoenix New Times reported that the latest lawsuit is requesting a delay on the April 8th lottery. The plaintiffs allege that the Arizona health department has not properly vetted the applicants to confirm that they are legally eligible for a social equity license. The lawsuit believes some of the applicants may need to later be revoked because of not being qualified. An Arizona Health Department representative told the Phoenix New Times that they do not forsee a need to delay, saying that if any lottery winners are later disqualified, the agency would simply pick replacement winners.
