Last month we reported on a wedding in Santiago, Chile, where a bride and her caterer brother laced one tier of her wedding cake with weed. The wedding guests were told of it, and given the option to partake or not. Some did, some didn’t. And since Chile has decriminalized personal consumption, no one was arrested. A hilarious tik tok video went viral showing the stoned wedding guests partying it up on the dance floor. Well, another bride and caterer tried to have some fun by lacing wedding food with weed, but it definitely did not end as well! In this case, the bride and caterer were arrested, and many very unhappy wedding guests ended up in the hospital. After consuming food and wine at the wedding, some guests began “feeling weird” and started to feel as if they had been drugged. One guest told a local news station: “I thought I was having a heart attack. My heart was racing.” Some guests complained of stomach pains and even vomited. First responders were called and a number of guests were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. One woman told a paramedic she thought the food had been laced with cannabis. Deputies collected samples of foods from the event, such as chocolate-covered strawberries, pudding shots, cookies and brownies, and even the lasagna. CNN cited court affidavits which said that some guests and food, such as the lasagna, did test positive for THC. The bride and groom, along with the caterer, were questioned by police. The newlyweds denied accountability and said they didn’t ask for anything to be laced. However, in an affidavit, one guest said that after beginning to feel high, they asked the bride if the olive oil was spiked, and the bride responded “yes” and “acted excited.” CNN reported after a deeper investigation and more interviews, the 42-year-old bride and 31-year-old caterer now stand accused of tampering, culpable negligence, and delivery of cannabis. Needless to say, drugging someone without their consent is highly illegal in all cases and extremely reckless and careless behavior. Comments are closed.
