The 42 million visitors annually to Las Vegas can legally purchase cannabis from dispensaries, but finding where to consume it can be difficult. Currently there is only one cannabis consumption lounge, at NuWu Cannabis Marketplace’s Vegas Tasting Room, just north of downtown Las Vegas on Paiute Tribe land. Last year, the Nevada state legislature passed new laws that gives recreational cannabis dispensary owners the ability to apply licenses to open on-site consumption lounges. While state legislators have already passed this, Nevada’s Cannabis Compliance Board must still finalize these regulations. MJ Biz Daily reported that Planet 13 Dispensary is planning a consumption lounge adjacent to its dispensary west of theStrip. Their plan is for a 20,000-square-foot lounge with a four-inch-deep indoor splash pool and a 5,000-square-foot outdoor balcony. There are also plans in the works for a cannabis friendly hotel coming to Las Vegas. Pro Hospitality Group Owner Alex Rizk already owns a cannabis friendly hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. He recently told the Las Vegas Review Journal that he is planning a $3 million renovation of the newly purchased Artisan Hotel on Sahara Avenue, which should be completed this fall. If all goes according to plan, his new hotel will be cannabis friendly, just like his Phoenix location. Comments are closed.
