 One year ago the Denver, Colorado, city council approved cananbis lounges... and today, the very first one is opening it’s doors to the public. In the past, there have been some private membership consumption lounges there, but today marks a first of it’s kind for the state, since now any adult can visit this lounge, purchase a varitety of cannabis products, and consume them on site. They can also buy food and drinks for their munchies there. The new lounge is called, “JAD’s Mile High Smoke,” and in addition to cannabis, food and drinks, they’ll also have TVs, arcade and video games. This summer they’ll be finished with some additional space that will include an outdoor patio, and a small stage area where they plan to host bands and comedians. As for the menu, they’re selling flower, concentrates, edibles and they’ll have all of the consumption tools you might need. There is a restriction on how much you can purchase, though. State law limits your visit’s purchases to two grams of flower, or a half-gram of concentrate, or 20mg of edibles. They’ll have some basic grinds for munching on, like pizza and hot dogs, and later on they also want to invite different food trucks to stop by and serve at their outdoor patio areas. The owner of Jad’s Mile High Smoke, Josh Davis, said this will be, “a safe place to come and get high, be relaxed, stay as long as you want or you have to because I’m not going to let you leave inebriated.” He’s also added, “I’m trying to show the world what the future of cannabis is like… .... once I show people this can be done and it can be effective, there will be thousands of these.” Many more of these types of venues are expected soon in Denver, as the city has already approved a number of these licenses earlier this year.
