 This week, Steve Moser of MacRumors sent out a tweet where he wrote, that “DoorDash is working on cannabis delivery“.
He also sent out a second tweet, adding to the claim. He said, “the attached image shows some of the cannabis-related text in DoorDash’s app which indicates DoorDash is working on cannabis pickup…” One of the photos was Door Dash writing, “You will not be charged when placing the order. Pay when you arrive at the store and provide an ID.” So it’s not clear how DoorDash is delivering if you’re going to be picking up at the store and showing ID, but this could be their start into the industry, with advance orders on their app, and then pickup at the location. This is similar to DoorDash’s existing order ahead option for food pickups. Benzinga news reached out to DoorDash and asked them about the potential cannabis deliveries, and a spokesperson responded by saying, “DoorDash is always thinking about new ways to provide the communities we serve with access to unparalleled convenience and opportunity through our platform. We continually explore and test new innovations, but don’t have any new updates to share at this time.” Comments are closed.
