![]() Last week the Golden State Warriors celebrated their fourth NBA championship in eight years. In addition to the trophy, the rings, the parades, the monetary prizes, and all the pride… players also got a goodie bag of cannabis! The bag was gifted by Sunset Connect, a San Francisco-based equity brand name. Their Chief Executive Officer Ali Jamalian said, “We wanted the team to go on vacation with real city fire.” Their gift bags included two prerolls, lots of mini joints, a couple paacks of gummies, an eighth of flower, topical recuperation gel, and a tshirt. The players can go ahead and enjoy their goodies, since the NBA will not be testing for marijuana. Last fall, NBA spokesman Mike Bass said, “We have agreed with the [players association] to extend the suspension of random testing for marijuana for the 2021-22 season and focus our random testing program on performance-enhancing products and drugs of abuse.” California cannabis gifting laws do allow for giving up to one ounce of cannabis.
