Arizona’s Veterans could soon get free medical marijuana cards. The state’s legislatures are currently reviewing Senate Bill 1466 which would allow for vets to get free med cards. The bill would also drastically cut down the cost of a medical marijuana card for all citizens in the state. So far, the legislation has been passing through checkpoints and receiving bipartisan support. Ann Torez, who is the Executive Director for theh Arizona Dispensaries Association, pointed out that the new legislation also opens up medical qualifications to include post traumatic stress disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder as qualifying medical conditions. Torez said, “We felt it was really important to provide the veterans in the state access to medical marijuana as they see needed.” She added, “that this now is the right time to make sure that the access becomes even more available.” The next step for this bill is for Arizona’s House of Representatives to review and hopefully pass the legislation, before heading over to Governor Katie Hobbs desk for consideration.
