Oklahoma has legalized medical marijuana, but recreational adult use is still illegal in the state.

Yesterday, a group of cannabis activists, called Oklahomans for Sensible Marijuana Laws, announced that they have enough signatures to put that issue on the ballot this November.

The group officially turned in over 164,000 signatures to the secretary of state’s office, despite only needing 94,911. They acquired an excess of signatures in order to ensure that enough would available once all the submissions were validated.

Their proposed initiative would allow adults 21 and older in the state to possess and purchase up to an ounces of cannabis and grow a limited number of plants for personal use, without having to have a med card.
