A group pushing a constitutional amendment that would make recreational marijuana legal in Missouri, called Legal Missouri 2022, announced this week that it has collected enough signatures to put the issue on the ballot this fall. The group has accumulated 200,000, but are looking to collect even more before the May 8 deadline. The campaign manager for Legal Missouri 2022, John Payne, says that more signatures will provide a cushion to ensure they’re able to put the issue before voters in November. The recreational use initiative they are proposing would allow Missourians over 21 to possess, consume, and cultivate marijuana. It would also expunge criminal records for most prior, nonviolent marijuana offenses. Comments are closed.
