![]() A new study done by the Coalition for Cannabis Policy, Education and Regulation (CPEAR), shows legalization of cannabis has not resulted in increased use among adolescents. Plus, the study also found that despite the fact that many states now have a legal open market for cannabis, this has still not made it easier young people to access it. Their analysis showed that government guidance and cannabis research is teaching the public, including youths, to be more conscientious, and they believe this is a direction that needs to continue to be encouraged. The study said that they believe, “local communities should be at the core of any effort to reduce youth use and misuse of cannabis.” A study by the University of Michigan also confirmed this same line of thought. They found that at the end of the first year of Michigan’s cannabis legalization, teens had lowered their cannabis use over the past year. Comments are closed.
