Suffers of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Report Unanimous Relief by Using Medical Marijuana3/9/2022
Post-traumatic stress disorder patients unanimously reported relief of symptoms by using medical marijuana in a Texas survey. The top medical marijuana producer in Texas, Texas Original Compassionate Cultivation (TXOG), released results from their clinical study of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) patients. The focus group was composed exclusively of veterans clinically diagnosed with PTSD. Participants in the study sampled gummy, tablet, and tincture products at various dosages, based on the individual’s prescriptions. The patients in the focus group reported quick onset of the products’ medicinal effects, and all found relief from their PTSD symptoms. Participants also reported a reduction in pain, decreased nightmares, better sleep, and improved mood. The study also found that after 90 days of the study:
The focus group’s presiding physician, Dr. Matthew Brimberry, noted the medicine was well tolerated by the group. No patient discontinued treatment due to side effects. Dr. Brimberry said, “Introducing medical cannabis into their treatment plans has been truly life-changing.” He also said that this “conclusively demonstrates the impact medical cannabis can have in treatment.” Morris Denton, CEO of TXOG, said the analysis reinforced the efficacy of their products and “showcases how veterans experiencing PTSD—as well as other patients throughout Texas living with similar symptoms—can benefit from a medical cannabis prescription.” Dr. Brimberry added, “Medicinal cannabis should be considered as one of the first-line treatment options for PTSD. We are seeing significantly better results with cannabis when compared to conventional pharmacotherapy.” Catherine Cole / The M News Now Comments are closed.
