This week, the Swiss government announced that it will lift the ban on medical cannabis. The announcement said, “The decision to use a cannabis-based medicine for therapeutic purposes will rest with the doctor, in consultation with the patient.” But, the downside is that medical cannabis is still only allowed if the medicine contains less than 1% THC, and is licensed. Adult-use cannabis sale and consumption will still remain illegal. However, the Swiss governement also recently did approve a trial period of recreational cannabis for just 400 selected users. That trial is expected to begin this summer, and will eventually analyze results to decide where to go from there. Comments are closed.
