![]() The New York Times has reported that Gold Medalist and WNBA player for the Mercury Suns, Brittney Griner, has been detained in Russia after customs officials in Moscow allegedly found cannabis vape cartridges in her luggage. Custom officials at Sheremtyevo International Airport in Moscow released video of what appears to be Griner going through security there. The Russian government could impose as much as a ten-year sentence. There have been many public statements indicating “full support” for Griner, including USA Basketball, the WNBA, the NBA, and her home team The Phoenix Mercury.
